La voile sans se prendre la tête

ben voilà c'est exactement ça... et c'est ce qui m'a motivé à poster cette vidéo ici !
D'ailleurs les "pieds nickelés" périgourdins seront à l'open dériveurs de Biscarrosse ce week-end et j'encourage tous les skiffeurs qui sont dans le coin à participer à cette régate vraiment très chouette et très... open !
C'est toujours une super organisation à terre comme sur l'eau. Ce sera bien la première fois depuis pas mal d'années qui je n'y serai pas et je le déplore !

Par contre si vous pouviez venir aussi à l'open de france début aout à biscarosse thumbsup;

Déjà 2 4000 / 1 RS200 et un RS800 d'inscrits.

On a pensé venir avec Manu, mais je rentre de Belgique/Est France seulement le 30, donc pas possible de se rendre à Biscarosse.
Mais l'année prochaine on sera probablement présent.

GREAT SUPER

Saterday Trainingday : We started rigging the boat at noon and it was finaly rigged ready to race at . . . . 01:00 in the night !! with at least 7 helping pair of hands. BUT it was ready !! So no training, no testing. Wait and see tomorrow.

Sunday 1st racing day. Helm - Tjeerd. You know that litle shy lad sailing on the 49er since three years now. Mid - Matthew the experienced 18 ft sailer (it's what he told me though) and Yves - the frontman Just comming from the 29er and got his first sails on the 49er this winter. He has not even 18 years of age but nothing fears him.

I joined the crowd on a floating house at the starline. On the balcony was settled the jury members and several camera man. Wind 8-10 knots. And yes Tjeerd, Matthew and Yves arrives on the startline and unbelievable they got a perfect start and went on in the close group of nine 18 ftrs. They turned last on the upwind bouy but still on the heels of the others. Once the huge kite up they even went faster than some others and took two places!! God damn the jibes were perfect as were the tacks. They finished leaving two boats after them.

Second race (sorry to be that long) YES VERY GOOD START AGAIN. And same story as above they rounded as least the upwind bouy but once the kite up they joint the group again. OH GOD what happens to the Pandion team bad manoeuvre and that other Brittish team capzise! Tjeerd, Matthew and Yves finish the race with no stress as an easy job to accomplish. They are 8th on nine but a very good result anyway.

Third and last race. (sorry again to be that long). 2 minutes before start Our boat is making a strange manoeuver what happens? Oh NO problems on the rudder. The boat is stearless !! A safety boat gives a helping hand. SHIT start is given. 3 minutes after start rudder is repared and there they go. The sky is changing suddely in a dark gray treadening cloud. Soon we hear thunder and lightening. What a view !! We are like in a movie. Wind pics up to a big 4. We are rewarded by a beautifull show of all the group comming down in our direction with kite up in full speed and all man as low as possible on trapeze, bowsprid lifted up and this under a menacing sky.
Tjeerd, Matthew and Yves leaves at least two are even three boats behind them and what I feared happend. A bad jibe and they capzise. Is the race finished?? Absolutely not ! They are determined to succeed ! And yes a british boat capzise three times in a row and give up the race. Our team finished again 8th. with just one little mistake. What a team ! Two of them never never sailed an 18ft and never sailed together.

Monday 2th day of the race our boat starts with a new team. Joris as helm and never sailed an 18ft; Huud - middle man and never sailed an 18ft and Yves in front with an 1 day sailing experience.
On the first race they got a perfect start and are FIRST on the upwind bouy. Can you believe this, all the others are sailing on a Ferrari of 30.000 Euro and our man with nothing as expierence on an old rotting boat of 1.500 Euro they are first on the upwind bouy. ! With full speed kite up they are arrive second on the downwind bouy. My god the others must be jealous. And then camed the problem who saved the face of the others. Still second sailing again to the upwind bouy the boat stopped suddely. Nobody had seen that the kite fell in the water.


Was their performance just an assemblage of lucky circumstances? We are on the start of te second race. My God, Allah or whatever, a good start again and YES THEY ARE FIRST ON THE UPWIND BOUY AGAIN !!! This is definitively nothing with luck to do. They are just the very best. Downwind still first. AND SHIT the rudder breaks again and this time for good.
