Salut!

Je suis perdu a Paris avec mon RS600 encore! Et je suis desolee mais je ne parle pas bien francais encore! So I am afraid I will have to write in English. I am trying to learn french though!

Thanks for the advise you gave me on my post on the forum earlier this year.

I have a couple of questions and also wondered if anyone had any advice for my plans.

Bascially, my plan is to bring my RS600 over to France mid June before I take my boat back to England in Sept. So I am hoping to be able to sail over here from June to Sept.

I was thinking of maybe the club at CVML as that is nearest, but maybe take the boat for a couple of weekends to Langrune/mer - when I am fed up of shifty light and shite winds.

Firstly, a question, maybe for Francois M, do you or does anyone else know if the sailing club at CVML will be open this weekend? I am would like to come and visit it to see what it looks like (my girlfriend will also come as a translator!).
Secondly, do I need some kind of license to sail at a club - even if it will only probably be a few times?
Also, do clubs allow short term memberships? My club in the UK allows temporary weekend memberships for people who cant sail all year round.

I appreciate your advice and help.

Regards

Andy

Bonjour Andy,

The club is opened every weekend, club representatives will welcome you with that traditional greeting for skiffs: a great smile and a movement which consists in tapping its temple of the index saying "encore un fou". ;D

I won't be at the club this weekend, but you'll find there many people of great help.
You may prepare your visit by sending an e-mail to cvml.voile@wanadoo.fr then Kim our club president will answer you. Here is the club web site .
I now they make special arrangements to people that don't stay for long.
License is only required to race, not for training.

Usually there is less activity at the club in July because of vacations and miss wind but there is still people sailing. in contrary, during August I often have been alone during the complete weekend. Sailing is always possible... alone.

Send me an MP if you need more info.
Hope I'll see you soon there.
Best.
François

Hi Andy,

Don't hesitate and come in Langrune or Luc sur Mer this summer! My 600 is now repaired, so is the n°748, I'll be on holiday for 2 months long so we could arrange some training in common...

Hi Andy

François M will probably sail in Granville on June, 5th & 6th. Maybe you could join us and meet a (small) part of the french fleet (B14, RS800, RS700...!) There are a 3h and half trip by A13

See you

Francois (another one)

Adrian - I also hope to be able to sail at Luc sur Mer sometime in the summer so I will let you know when.
