GO NAD AND SEND IT
During the 2002 Leander Trophy if the wind is too strong and a days sailing is blown
out there will be a SEND IT contest arranged for an afternoons entertainment. Those
punters that think they’re up to it will be encouraged to be the entertainment
! The contest will be open to all that want to GO NAD and send it.
! Each skiff will send it twice between two marks on a perfect “No Guts No Glory
Tow Away”
! Judges will show score cards between 1 and 10 visible to the sailors and
spectators after each send
! The highest cumulative score will win
! Scoring will be based on a range of skills that may be displayed. These may
include, Wave jumping air time, Jumping centerboard, Jumping centerboard and
rudder, Course speed, Mining technique and style, Swinging around the bow still
hooked onto the trapeze single or tandem, De-prodding, Dismasting, Snapping
centerboards or rudders, Blowing out chutes, Soiling wetsuit.
! Video interviews with skippers and crews will be taken prior, during and after
sending it. Videos will be replayed on the big screen back at the bar.
! A restricted number of boats will be on the water at any one time for safety
reasons
! Rescue craft will be on the water
! New wetsuits are available from Barton Marine at very reasonable prices.
! Wind conditions are expected to be scary Fourth Rig, Reefed R Rig or in other
terms bloody snotting
! The GO NADS SEND IT Course Area is intended to be between the Port of
Wellington Container Terminal and the Oriental Bay Fountain. The windiest part
of the Harbor.
! Sea and wind conditions are expected to be a little demanding.
! Prizes will be presented after the video screening.

La premiere, le 12pieds qui saute partout sous spi, j'ai l'impression de revoir les 18pieds à Carnac l'an dernier dans la manche de brise (22-23nds) !! Je vous rassure, on était pas sorti ce jour là !
C'est quand meme vachement plus nerveux que le 18. Leur coque accastillee sans les voiles pese 40kg et ils portent approx. la meme surface qu'un 14'...
Celle que je prefere, c'est une des dernieres ou ils partent au tas a la fin.

49er - 94 kg (generally no correctors)
14 - 74 kg (new boats carry lots of correctors)
Intl. Canoe - 63 kg
14 (no lead) - 54 kg
12 - 45 kg
R - 31 kg (NZ 12 foot skiff, apparently no min weight in rules)
Int Moth - 30 kg (all up)

... Non j'deconne. J'rentre d'un week end en 18 pied, 25oC soleil 10 nd d'vent. Y'a meme assez
d'place pour planter une tente sur c't'engin. Pour un 14pieidist ca change.
Super bateau. C'est dans ma list de joujou pour noel prochain.
C'est dans la tradition "skiff" d'arreter d'regatter au dessus de 25nd et d'sortir pour faire les idiots.

Sans deconner, je pense que ca se ressemble pas mal dans des conditions musclees comme ca. Maintenant, il est evident que le 18 a un peu plus "d'inertie" que le 12', mais si tu reussis a tenir les 120 m2 du 18 dans du 30 noeuds, ca doit allumer grave.
