Laser 5000 European Championships - Aout 2010

Salut tout le monde,

Si vous connaissez du monde qui navigue sur Laser 5000, faites leur savoir que les European Championships sont organisés en Allemagne pour la 1er semaine d'aout à coté de Dormund sur la lac Mohnesee.

Les bateaux anglais, allemands, polonais seront là. On serait ravi aussi de voir des bateaux francais participer aux courses.

Calling all 5000 Sailors!!

On behalf of the BMSTC British Mohnesee Sail Training Centre in Germany, i am very keen to see as many 5000's as possible here in Germany!! I not sure if you have raced over here in the past, but i do know that the locals will be delighted to see such an exciting class on our Lake.

The area of the Lake that the centre operates in is approx 2.5km x 900m and therefore leads to some interesting racing both for the experienced campaigner and also for those who may be new to the class, it's safe venue with no hidden shallows etc.. Launching is easy and the centre staff will be on hand to assist you with both Launching and recovery.

The lake is surrounded by a footpath and 2 bridges at either end so it's easy to watch from the shore those who may not be racing.

The winds at the centre are variable and it's difficult to predict but hopefully the wind will come from either the east or west which will be perfect for windward leeward type course and a consent breeze. If however the wind comes from either the north or south if will be shifty and the course may have to be slightly different.

The Weather generally will be mid 20's but can be as high as 30- 35degrees ,so pack some suncream, It's bound to rain now i have said that.

Cela fait plaisir de voir que des gens essayent de maintenir une petite activité à cette série.

Le Laser 5000 n'était vraiment pas un mauvais bateau et avant l'arrivée du 49er dans l'Olympisme, il y a eu quelques années où le 5000 était la référence en matière de dériveur double avec un circuit européen sponsorisé.

Oui, On s'amuse bien dans notre groupe à régater nos 5000s.
Certes, le 49er est plus legers mais le 5000 est indestructible.
(le toit de garage de Michal s'est effondré. Sous tout le platre, le bateau etait encore ok...!)
C'est un bon bateau pendant le credit crunch!

Pour l'Eurocup, on a biensur hesité entre l'Allemagne et la Bretagne...
L'Allemagne était particulierement pas chere car on a des contacts la bas.
On viendra vous rendre visite à Quiberon tot ou tard.
